There has been a rule change for amateurs. Please read the 1st rule on the rules page.
The official site of the New York State Pro/Am series The King of the Empire series was started in 2008 as a way of retaining our older riders who were becoming bored with winning plastic trophies. It gives them the opportunity to compete alongside pro riders and win some money along the way. Many of the participants have also found that it is true when people say racing faster and better riders, makes you faster and better also. In the first year the series awarded over $3000 dollars to it's riders. Year two saw an increase in rider participation and sponsor donations. The total amount awarded for the 2009 season was $4477.00. All money was raised through rider registration and raffles. Rennen Design Group donated a $100 cash holeshot award for the championship race. For the 2010 season we are proud to be joining Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. The series will have donation cans at every event. In addition to the cans we will be making a donation of 5-7% of the total intake of the series at the end of the 2010 season. This series is open to discussion by you, the riders, on Nick's website. www.bmxunderground.com This seems to be the easiest way to discuss what the riders want to do.
